Interpreter Pro is a Chrome extension that writes the call as it happens, in both languages. Every name, number and date is on screen the moment it's said. You stay with the conversation.

What you see during a call

  • Both languages at once. What was said, with the translation beneath it, line by line, as the call goes on.
  • The whole call stays on screen. Look back at a name or a number from ten minutes ago.
  • Edit as you go. Fix a line during the call, and it can be translated again.
  • Your Glossary. Your own terms, used in future calls.
  • Look up a word. Select it to see what it means. Press Pronounce to hear it, said to you only.
  • Openings. Record your greeting once, in your own voice, and play it into the call with one press.
  • Pinyin for Chinese. Turn it on, and tone-marked readings sit above every character.

It works in 60 languages, translated in either direction. It never interprets and never speaks for you. You are the interpreter.

Where it works

Interpreter Pro listens to the audio of a Chrome tab. If your call plays in Chrome, it works there: a phone call through a web softphone, a video call, or a remote interpreting platform in the browser.

If your call runs in a desktop app, join it in Chrome instead, where the platform allows it. A lecture, a webinar or a video works the same way.

How to start

  1. Add Interpreter Pro to Chrome.
  2. Sign in with Google. The free plan gives you 120 minutes every month, with no card.
  3. Open your call in a Chrome tab, open Interpreter Pro, and press Start.
  4. Choose the call tab and enable Share audio. The call is written down from that moment.

Press Stop when the call ends. Clear this call starts a fresh page.

What happens to the call

  • It listens to the call's tab audio. The microphone is used only for Openings, and only while you record one.
  • Call audio streams from your browser straight to our speech provider, under a signed BAA (Business Associate Agreement), on every plan. It is not stored on our servers.
  • Transcripts are never saved, on our servers or in the browser. Close Interpreter Pro and the transcript is gone.
  • Words you look up, and lines you edit for a fresh translation, are sent as text to be processed.
